I'm interested in giving it a try, made locally and reading their blurb they make sense. I like the fact it's a scrubbable finish. I've just laid down a fair wedge of $ on a Mirka deros 8mm stroke sander and the matching super fouler dust extraction system with 10 metres of hose. And I'm using their Novastar abrasive
So most likely October I'll haul out, and advise

cheers Richard

Nope !

Sydney family owned concern. That the appeal to me , maybe there AF has enough copper to actually provide fouling resistance for 12 months in my area?
Spoke to there tech and advised
Shipshape as a suitable primer on grp
and Norshield ideal for the cast iron keel
then hard AF on top.
ill let you know the results in 12 months or crossed fingers longer!

Yeah, mine's coming out this month at Marmong Point.

I've been using Altex 5 in Lake Macquarie & pretty happy with it but I'll be keeping an eye on those using Norglass.

I am using Carboline Sea Barrier 3000. I believe as effective as Altex No.5 at considerably less cost.

Looking good 6 months down the track.

I have not read the label lately but the address on the bottom was the same as Wattyl's address. The shipwright spoke highly of it.

I've checked out Norglass and its a hard product so not ablative.
Altec No. 5 Plus is on my short list but the biggest problem is me as I do not use my boat enough to make the antifouling work.
I have now learnt that not only does one need to use their boat to remove algae as using the boat also activates the antifouling chemicals, in this case copper.
I do enjoy boating but atm too many other interests.

From what I could find on the web Carboline Sea Barrier 3000 used to be labelled Altex AF3000. Both have excellent web reviews. So part of the Altex products range sold by Resene;

www.resene.com.au/profile.htm#altex-coatings

The Resene Artarmon store is excellent.

Seems like there is the opportunity to rationalise the Altex and Carboline ranges and charge them all at the lower price.............
