I have a paid subscription to Navionics which I use on a Samsung Tablet on my boat. I normally do trip planning using Navionics web based Chart Viewer on my PC at home. It had similar functionality as the Navionics Boating App on the tablet. I mainly used manual Route planning to work out distances and times for way points and total trip.
The link I had on my PC suddenly auto re-directed to a Garmin site on 1st August. Worked fine the day before. The Garmin site has a similar interface with maps of my area but does not have the Route planning or Menu buttons. 20% of the screen is taken up by an ad inviting me to purchase a Garmin product. I know Garmin owns Navionics but I don't want to purchase anything and I cannot get this ad to go away.
I contacted Garmin support who advised me the Navionics Chart Viewer is no longer available and I could use the Garmin version. He stated that the Garmin version does not have the route planning functionality and did not answer my question re getting rid of the ad.
He gave me a list of compatible software that I could use on my PC but these all cost hundreds of dollars.
I can use my tablet for this trip planning but found it simpler to use the larger screens on my PC. Not very good customer focus removing functionality to a paying customer.
I would be interested to know what others use who do trip planning on a PC.

When did you actually pay that subscription , because it would seem that your subscription has run out and now you are being offered an "updated" version which has a lot of features removed.
Welcome to the friendly world of Navionics.

When the subscription expires the manual trip planner remains but the auto feature disappears.

Unless you buy the "improved" features you are left with just your tablet as your main system.

There are other systems besides Navionics and some one will be along soon to fill you in on the options.

I really liked the Navionics web Chart Viewer but now the Garmin replacement is absolute garbage!!

Like you I used it to plan routed etc & then transfer them to my plotter.

OpenCPN will have to do now!!

Have to love the Garmin customer focus.

I also use Navionics from time to time and still have a current annual sub for the app for $89.99.

In July I got 3 emails from Garmin saying I needed to register with Garmin "...if you want to keep receiving emails about Garmin and Navionics products. We've moved all Navionics product information to Garmin.com and we'll no longer send emails about new products from Navionics after 31 July." I haven't registered with them because I dont really need more marketing emails.

I route plan on a desktop PC using OpenCPN (free). You do have to get the chart files for OpenCPN, which cost me 35 euro from www.o-charts.org/?lng=en for all of Australia including a year's fortnightly updates.

I then export the routes from OpenCPN as GPX files and upload those to my B&G chart plotter via appchart.bandg.com/core/map

A very good example of a business not understanding that it is cheaper to keep a customer than get a new one.

I have just returned from a trip where navionics is the ENC and lost count of how many times I had to agree to not use it for navigation. I did all the plotting on paper or to be accurate laminated charts.

I have found a work around. I downloaded this program on my PC...

It makes the PC imitate an Android system. I then went to Play Store on this platform and downloaded the Boating App. Signed in and hit full screen.
Everything works fine again.

If you have a m1/2 Mac you can use some IOS apps. Currently looking at Aqua maps, they have a good Chart viewer and you can create routes for planning and export them as GPX. Still learning. Garmin are being stupid.
