Egg shells had to be broken into tiny pieces once an egg was cracked open. This was meant to stop witches coming to the ship to sail in the pieces of shell.

Always took bananas on Morning Bird. Ate them in the first two days when seasickness can cause problems. Good food most people can eat even when seasick.
if the crew didn't like it they didn't stay as crew for long. Irrational thinkers aren't overly suitable in offshore sailing.

This one is neither a myth nor a superstition.
Bananas were not carried onboard because bananas ripened and spoiled other fresh produce. The crew then got scurvy, sick and died.
I don't have bananas on my boat because I don't like them.

On my fishing vessel the deckhands could not eat bananas or oranges. This rule was simply to stop tainting the live bait! Even though they always wore gloves this rule was fairly common among line and pole fishing vessels.

Yes always store bananas separately.
Can't say rabbit. Everything must be done clockwise. No whistling. Nothing green. There are so many.

Not sure if I have good luck coming my way or I need to throw some salt over my shoulder. I mentioned in a different post that I needed to drop the mast as the wireless wind instrument was upside down . Well I did so today. The live aboard I share the pen with told me the guilty party was an albatross . He assured me it flew off.
