My inflatable boat has sprung a leak where the three seams meet. Looking for ideas how to repair! Do I dehiscence the seams then re-glue? Inject a little superglue and patch over the top?
Acetone worked fine as a cleaner/solvent on my PVC dinghy, but is pretty savage so go easy and try it on some scrap or a non-critical section first. The WW's 2-pack PVC glue (Az-Bond?) works well if you follow the instructions to the letter. Forget about any adhesives but a 2-pack type that is specific to your boat's material. I have seen the results of people trying to go cheap and use contact cement, or PVC pipe glue. Don't even think about it. Cheers, Graeme
Thank you. I tried the toobseal this afternoon and (now 4hrs later) she's still holding. Soap spray indicates there remains a leak, however much smaller. I intend to try "aquaseal" then patch over the top with g-flex. Will report back. Thanks for the advices. Josh
