Ciao Tigers,

Did anybody had a flooded acid lead battery? How long did they last?

I went to Withworts and bought an Exide 120Ah deep cycle battery (acids lead flooded) for 299 bucks. The same capacity lithium battery would be around 800 bucks minimum. I need two batteries and really didn't want to spend 1600 bucks for batteries.
The second new battery is a giant 140Ah AMG deep cycle at price of 320 bucks. I want to test which one will last longer.
My question is which of these two batteries I should connect to the starting battery and which one for house keeping? moj this note I am very confused because before starting the engine I am turning the switch on boat batteries so logically boats batteries are supporting the starter motor and both are getting charged by alternator and solar pannels ( two different panels with separate controller each for separate batteries when engine is off).
Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Serb, I've got two Giant 125 ah house batteries, still going strong after 6 years. I have looked after them by not overdrawing, that's the biggest life killer.

Thanks,

I got one of them, on its way but the other one is lead acid. Which one would you connect to the starter motor? Giant one AMG 140Ah or Exid lead acid one 120Ah?

Thanks

Cool, went to withworts and swapped the flooded one with AMG. Now I should be ok for a couple of years. When coffe mashine or microwave is on I will make sure that engine is on and alternator is pumping amps to keep batteries sexy!
