Lately the forum seems to be really quite

Do others think the same or is it just my imagination

The festive season would have something to do with it also probably............

Note that all seabreeze forums have rules...........I wasn't aware of these till now..........they are a tad voluminous..........

I did a google search for other "code of conduct" type text for chat forums and found many links but it seems they are all long and windy.............eg

dnet.org.au/guidelines/

In concise terms I would have thought that most people on this forum are here to learn from others and also contribute their knowledge and experience to questions that come up. So the text and tone of messages should be similar that which would be encountered at a friendly dinner party of like minded individuals / acquaintances etc who participate in sailing. Ok we have all attended these which have got a tad rowdy............

Suggest if we all communicate to others in the same manner that we would like others to communicate to us, then 2020 will be a pleasant experience here, including continuous learning for all of us. Obviously there is a huge wealth of knowledge and experience on this forum and it should be taken advantage of.

Hiya Don,
I thought so too mate.
I can only speak from a personal pov, but I kinda take a mental break post Hobart, it's like that race sucks the oxygen out my sails (pun intended) for a few weeks. That, and this time of year is holidays so spending a lot more time with the kids than normal and the social calendar always seems busy this time of year.
I reckon SB will have the normal peaks and troughs but it feels like a 'permanent' fixture for mine. The knowledge is awesome, and the personalities are very Aussie (and Kiwi) compared to the int. forums like Anarchy. Much more genteel and respectful, it's like you start as friends straight off the bat and need to push yourself out of the community by acting like a dill, rather than starting on the outer and having to work your way in to making friends. We can be just as blunt as the best of them, but there is no malice behind it. That's very Australian and a big differentiator to me.
Love it to bits, long may SB prosper!
