I have a 2005 Catalina 34 MKII which suits me very well, but the other day I was invited to inspect a fully restored 1980 Jarcan 10mtr.
Boy, I was blown away - it was fantastic!
Traditional woodwork, beautifully fitted out with all up to date electronics, gear, etc. Perfect for cruising - so this could very well be my favourite.

I would not be so rude as to ask on the forum how much dinero you are paying for this yacht. I just know it is plenty.

If funds needed for ownership for me were in abundance, which means not just buying it, the lesser part of the equation, but the ongoing ownership cost of at least 10% of the capital cost per annum for maintenance, plus another 10% for when you feel creative and another 20% at least if you are going racing, I guess I would pick a POGO 12 too.

Before commitment to a purchase though I would have to be convinced by a demonstration sail which I am anticipating on the Fair Fusion in the not too distant future. A divisional or handicap win with myself aboard in the 2016 Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race would be a "Fish or cut bait" thing wouldn't it??

Go and buy one or sit out on the rail.

If size were no obstacle maybe a Gozzard, there's something about the idea of lounging in that fwd saloon.....:).

I like all of the SS boats and thought of yours. Just a bit too big for me. I like my boats to be a bit handy.

I'm with Donk. Either a Fusion for fun, fast cruising. Or an FP for fun, fast entertaining.

There is a Kalik 33 in Sydney that would seriously tempt me if it came on the market.

That Cole 32 looks pretty good value, nice lines

At the humane end of the scale there is a Najad 34 currently located in Sydney on the market.
These are not particularly well known over here, but are well built and should get you home everytime.

Now if I were to splash out then a Hallberg Rassy as per Ramona would do it for me.

Must be my bloodlines coming out here!

Had the pleasure of attending a cocktail party aboard this yacht when she was owned by Allan Bond and called XXXX.
I think here original name 'Jessica" suits her best.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

It's to hard to make a single decision!

If money really was no concern, I would have 2 boats, ( or maybe more)

Donks 40 cruising cat with a couple of big diesel auxilleries sounds great, and thensomething like the sunfast 3600 to race. Set the sunfast up to do cat 2 races.

Can see myself at hammo after a days racing, heading back to the cat for apre race drinks and nibbles.

After a couple of years thrashing the sunfast, trade it in on the next latest & fast little toy.

As I have a real soft spot for old timber yachts, may have a share in something on Sydney harbour, with a couple of like minded people, and do some classic racing........only a " share" mind you.

Hanse / Moody use the same hull for the Moody 54DS and the Hanse 575, and yes they are a great boat to sail, but I prefer the lay out of my 575, and can not think of a better all round boat to own. A Moody 54DS will run you into about $1,600,000.00. after you tick a few boxes.

Read between the lines southace. I have been sailing on Jode7, a Hanse 575, it is the duck's nuts and he did not pay $1.6 mill for it.

If money was no object I'd have a new Outremer 45 catamaran

Shaggie's Pogo looks hard to beat
Looks great, goes like a bullet, plenty of space and the option of shallow draft
