Currently doing up a Top Hat 25, and I thought that deck treading in the fibreglass, however I now believe it maybe Kiwi grip or an equivalent product. I know this maybe the simplest of questions but what is the best way to identify if it is kiwi grip or an equivalent product?
Next simple question best way of removing?

Doesn't look like Kiwi Grip to me - probably just paint over the fibreglass tread.

How to remove?? Good question!! Probably some paint stripper.

Looks like a paint over the moulded non-slip. You could try one of the gel type paint strippers.

If it was Kiwi grip or Bostik and it was used to stick that down, Automotive paint thinners really melts or dissolves it easily. But please do a test sample!! Because who knows whats in that stuff. If you are going to stick something down over that. I would recommended the Sikaflex version of Kwik Grip, Kiwi Grip. The Bostik Version is a darker yellow pus colour but its not very good these days. The Sikaflex version from Bunnings in the Orange can is expensive however is more liquid and much easier to do adjust what you laying down. But as most know in here the Sika Brand is professional stuff and other consumer brand names is mostly rubbish with no meaningful engineering data or longevity data that most sailors want these days.

Probably the easiest solution would be to give the existing paint a good clean with a pressure washer & then paint over with Kiwi Grip.

Look into tread grip same sort of acrylic thick paint as kiwi, but not marketed as " yacht specific " a year on a commercial passenger vessel still looks. But as with any paint prep is the key to success.

I second this idea. Consider putting kiwi grip over this.

I have a Top Hat, and what you have shown in the photo is the moulded non-slip they used in the manufacturing process. From your photos it looks to have been painted with something, as grey wasn't used from what I understand. Cream, light blue or light green were used. Mine has a similar grey painted over the blue, unlike yours, mine has weathered away to reveal a reasonably good blue underneath, the same colour as the topsides.

To prep it, you may need to use a scrubbing brush, or a synthetic brush on a drill to clean the cavities out. If it's painted well, you shouldn't need any further non slip, I've never found mine slippery at all.
