Help needed to identify sailing item

Hi crew

Cleaning out my father in laws yard and we came across this piece. Thinking its a spinnaker pole?

Just wondering if anyone can give me any ideas of time period, use and possible price for the item

It is 3.5m long, 50mm diameter. Aluminium shaft with what looks like oregon inserts and stainless ends.

I am into beach cats so this is a grey area for myself...

Yes, it is a spinnaker/jib pole. Price- not worth much. Maybe give it away on this site?

See this for price indication.........ok yours has a bit of timber but this is no problem....the end fittings themselves are not cheap.

Way too far for me to travel, looks like there might be some interesting sticks in that stack, bugger !

Thanks for the input...appreciated...especially the link as it gives me a ball park. Looks like it has been on there for a while so perhaps overpriced...

I was hoping I could get a time period and perhaps match the pole to owners on boats from that era. Oregon in the ends I would guess hasnt been used for sometime? I am also guessing that the oregon has some length hidden inside and the pole could perhaps extend further to 4m or more?

And yes Woko there are some good timber lengths, although, those ones we are discarding. My father in law has 40 yrs of construction gear and timber that he squirreled away on his property. Currently sorting it all out and clearing for a subdivision and he and I have just lifted 20t of mainly old growth jarrah sticks into a sea container for transporting. Hard graft but rewarding.

If anyone is wanting the pole in WA Im pretty sure he will let it go cheaply. Just drop a note of interest and I can either make an ad. or pass on some details.

If anyone could still identify the age that would be cool too for reasons above.

Alloy has been used for a long time. I'd guess 50's to 60's
It's a slim section and appears quite long. Looks too light for a yacht. Might be off a skiff (12, 16 or 18)
