I Wanted to buy a sea strainer that I could fit hose tails of the size I needed this was my main reason I bought this sea strainer .
The one I bought is a the compact version. So I thought Id put some photos up so every one who has not seen one can look.
For better or worst I own it off Gum tree .
It does have a threaded Allen keyed bolt to conect to your engine anode via a wire earth to the engine I guess.
The strainer is not a basket its straight through.
Sea water come through the bottom inlet hole into the strainer and the outlet is on the side stainless steel
Just thought Id put in seabreeze so you all know whats inside

No Donk it will be fine Ill make a stainless bracket to fit to mount on in the engine bay . I do like the idea of the strainer being a basket but Ill see how it goes trying to retrieve sea gunk out of it .
I did think about fitting it side ways but the problem would be bleeding the air out of it so the pump picks up the sea water. Perhaps I still could do that by adding a Tee to the inlet side and clamping a hose onto it with a screw on cap and fill the strainer that way so it bleeds through to the water pump . That way veiwing the glass on the strainer would be quick and easy to see as it would be side ways if it needed cleaning . Ill fit in in front in the engine bay

I just looked at the prices on the first couple of pages and the brackets are not cheap so it would probably be better to make one

Yes measured it tonight found a spot to mount it on the starboard side at the front of the engine bay higher than sea level above the fuel filter in this photo just fits in in front of the engine cover short run to the water pump and a easy curve from the sea cock
to the sea strainer in some new rubber hose Inch diameter I think at the sea cock so Ill buy a s/s hose tail with a i inch tail and also match the water pump tail with the other end of the sea strainer all the hoses will be visible in front of the motor . So every time I turn the sea cock on I can see the cooling system
Never want to see this happen again ever( was hiding under the engine sump out of sight)
