Zeston 36 and Zeston 40. They were built by Buzzen. Then there is the Buzzen 40, 48 and 54.

Never been on one but it seems a little strange to me as well.
Once any boat is 20 years old or more it's things like the condition of the engine, the rig, instruments, hatches ... as well as prompt and continuous attention to leaks that determines its worth.
No matter how good an original design and how well it is laid up all these bolt-on bits deteriorate.
Sure a good initial layup and design is essential but I wouldn't have thought for example that they would be any better than say a Cape Barren Goose-and quite a number of other boats-
in this regard.
Perhaps the type of person that buys one tends to maintain them better on average but that can't be an absolute rule.
You can't tell me that they too don't have a percentage of owner's that lose interest or become too elderly before the family finally sells to boat.

I have never been inside one but have studied them closely close up! They do just reek of quality. The interior fit out is what your paying for. Personally I would just settle for a Swan.

Consider a professionally built custom with a good design, you can get Hallberg quality at production prices. I bought a Radford but I was very interested in boats designed by Lidgard and Sayer as well to name a couple.

I've looked at quite a few HR yachts. The best fitout and quality I've seen on any yacht anywhere anytime. You get what you pay for.

I was looking at a HR Monsun and and some other of their designs. Fitout is superb, however many had failing teak decking and water in the balsa core from stupid owners drilling holes and fitting things without doing it properly. You really need to do your survey due diligence unless you want to get severely burnt. But I suppose that applies to any balsa cored hull purchased.

1) Supply and demand.

2) No Aus built production boat in that niche, but plenty that I'd buy before a HR.

Thanks guys.. investigating boats slowly, learning a lot about quality. it looks like that one gets what he pays for. To be honest so far I am in love of a boat called Duncunson 35 because they offer a lot for very little money. I have plenty of time to enjoy my little boat but 2025 is approaching slowly and I know it will be a big battle between some Jeanneau like (100k) of some duncunson 35 for (35k) boat. will see what happens but I am extremely happy because now days for very little money one can buy a good sailing boat such as bounty 35, duncunson 35, mottle 33 etc..even serial production boats from Europe such Elan, Jeanneau Bavaria are getting cheaper..

The bubble from covid has certainly burst. There are some excellent yachts out there now for very little money. Just bide your time.
