Im probably the only donkey who has been looking at Gumtree for a year for a boat and only just realised that all yachts are listed under sail boats but not all sail boats are listed under yachts.
eg. This one is not listed under yachts. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/airlie-beach/sail-boats/fast-cruiser-race-swarbrick-s1-11/1191715416
Wont even talk about trailer sailors or sailboats
edit : not quite correct above. Not all listed under yachts are listed under sail boat as well

A very good example of just why a seller should take a decent set of photo's to present the boat they are trying to sell! If they can't, as in this case, then spend a couple of dollars with someone that can.

Sandpiper appears to be one of the ex Navy Swarbrick S111s, possibly Scarborough which was in the west. For the money she looks to be a very nice boat indeed.
I have sailed on two of them extensively, Alexander and Lady Penrhyn. They were named after First Fleet ships.
They are a solid very well built yacht but they aren't fast. I did the Pittwater-Coffs in Alex in 2003, we came 2nd last in front of Lady P. I've also done Mackay to Brisbane, Brisbane to Sydney and my Skippers ticket on them.
They are a heavy boat with a very powerful rig. While we had a very experienced crew in 2003 we got into a bit of trouble on occasions. Shorthanded I think they would be difficult.

Galatea, an S111 that used to be in Brisbanemany years ago was horrible to helm. Could never quite find that groove.

Not one of the ex Navy S111's. The Navy boats had the extended cabin (aft) so you went in between the cabin extensions to enter the companionway. Does that make sense?
Alex was wrecked in an East Coast low a couple of years ago. Broke away from the boat harbour at Creswell with pontoon still attached and was wrecked on the beach. Friendship is still there and Alex has been replaced with a Benny.
