For some practice Id like to fill in the engine panel hole from the previous placement of the panel

< its covered in wood sandings needs a clean

Id like to fill it in with fiberglass just not sure of the resin to use and making sure it has a nice exterior finish when its done as Ive a couple of other holes to fill later on and need to learn
Any advice taken on board

Polyester resin for this would be fine. Are you going to be standing on it at any stage?

I bought a fibreglass kit from bunnings also a fibreglass roller, a litre of acetone for prep and clean up..
Sandpaper, maybe chopped matting to fill gaps?
I read a few how to articles just to be sure..
I patched a foot long burst seam of my under floor water tank with just 3 layers of glass matting done at same time, but done when it was warmer than now.. holding well. Just do it
