So on the Gold Coast Broadwater, there are time limits for anchoring so everyone gets a fair go at the good spots but it seems the authorities aren't doing their job and now it's infested with unattended anchored flotsam an jetsam of all descriptions sailing all over the place making a menace of themselves..and of course, there will be new laws soon to ruin it for everyone doing the right thing
*end rant*

RE; unattended anchored flotsam an jetsam of all descriptions sailing all over the place making a menace of themselves.

Unattended anchored vessels sailing all over the place?
That doesn't make sense.

RE: it seems the authorities aren't doing their job

So you like them to be stricter?
Checking the expiry dates on fire extinguishers.
operation of all safety equipment
up-to-date paper charts aboard.
and so on until a fineable offense is found on every boat boarded.
No thank you.

The big houseboats with 3miles of rode out sailing with the wind all over the place because they have no tidal resistance and using up the space of 4 vessels, and they are left there unattended for weeks straight
The authorities used to leave a friendly reminder on vessels that overstayed the 7 days..
And of everyone did the right thing and showed some curtesy to others the authorities wouldn't need to bother us would they.
it's not that hard to move and reset the time is it?
After all it's everyone's Broadwater not just for a few special people hogging the anchorages
ffs

OK,I'll lead with my chin. What Reason?
It has 24 hour access to Marine Rescue and apart from weekends and public holidays when south of Jumpinpin is overrun by motor yachts ,tinnies, house boats ,jet skis and multihulls its Paradise. Alright I will agree that with the housing crises live a aboards in derelict hulls are more prevalent and 90%of motor yacht skippers are still learners and have never ventured out through the Seaway but my goodness everyone is friendly. Aside from that it's a perfect place to sail where there is always somewhere new to go instead of going around in circles racing other grotty yachties.

Nah BB. Just get a mate who has one.
A lot less hassle.

There Should be 7 day anchor limit everywhere!,theres so many boats at anchor with or without anchors light in the best positions taking up space for cruisers that are actually cruising!
they are just left with obviously no insurance or care about others and even the ones onboard squatting should be moving every 7 days.

If they're still there after say a month or two, just undo their mooring lines.
