What is the go-to insurance at the moment that will cover dinghy racing in regattas?

Went with club marine for the laser because I'm lazy. It was easy but I haven't driven into anyone so can't vouch for the claims process.

For my Finn and International Canoe my insurance broker tacked them onto my boat insurance. Not sure what a claim would have been like but it did give me the $10M coverage I needed to race...

I'm looking for insurance to cover three Finn's. Do you sail at JB?

If you have home and contents insurance, many of these policies come with legal liability insurance that might do the job. My policy covers liability for persons and property up to $20m for (among other things) non-professional sport for boats that don't require registration (i.e. non-motorised in most cases). Check your PDS and avoid doubling up on unnecessary insurance. 3rd party only of course, if that is what you're looking for.

Most home insurance companies will do an inexpensive sailboat add on, used to have racv for 120 ish a year.
Former club used Tudor Insurance brokers, very good rates, excellent claims processing, highly recommended.

That sounds OK for sailing dinghies just flopping about. In a proper sailing regatta it might not satisfy the organizing committee. 3rd party is all I need with a public liability of 10 million. I tried some online quotes last night and no one seems overly interested. Some just do trailer sailors and if you have no engine the quote does not proceed!

Satisfied my local club in proper sailing regattas. Just present the PDS and let them argue why you're not covered if it clearly says it does.

Hi Ramona, haven't had the Finn for a while now, but a few of the guys here are trying to convince me to get back into it for the Masters Worlds...
