Does anyone know suitable water based epoxy for coppercoat ?
Upcoming antifouling time approaching and i thought of testing own mix of coppercoat on rudder.
Some reading say that ordinary west system is ok but it does contain solvent, water based does not.
Appreciate opinions .

I just put Coppercoat on my cat - unsure oif how it will perform yet - it was put on 12 weeks ago and has needed a scrub. Three friends have gone the WEST 105 and copper flakes route and none have been happy with the job. So I would not recommend that option.

Did you DIY or get a contractor to apply it

DIY. The worst part was removing the old antifouling. Consider asking around or getting it sandblasted

Done that once before after purchasing my boat. Antifouling started pealing of because of so many coats applied. They called me Smurf, old blue antifouling was all over myself. It was bloody hard work. Grind all the way to gel coat and start all over. My boat is on Brisbane River and water is constantly flowing with tide. This is why I'm considering hard antifouling, possibly eliminating scrubbing. Have copper powder but not sure about water based epoxy available around. Bunnings has some but application is for floors. Not sure if it's suitable. Would love to try coppercoat on rudder first as a testing. Otherwise back to Micron Extra 2 ( current and worn out already ), or Jotun ( not sure which one yet )

I was wondering if anyone knows if the copper coat recipe has changed over the years? I'm looking at copper coating my cat. Also I've found a 4000psi pressure washer does a great job of taking 25 years worth of ablative antifouling off
