I'm considering decommissioning my Columbia 27 and putting it on land as a guest cabin. Does anyone have any experience/advice on this?

I'm wondering if better to dig it into the ground or chock it above ground (except keel)?

Any other thoughts welcome. Thank you

Sell it and buy a shed. Cabin too small.
access would require cutting hull ,combing, giving access to moisture, rodents etc. to between outer and inner skin
Expensive to connect head to sewage.
Safe heating ?
Get a deluge and it would probably float. ( Noah's mini ark)

Won't be cutting hull.. have steps can get to cockpit. Warm climate so no heating required. Won't connect head. Don't like or want shed, just trying to put old boat without working motor to good use.

Fair enough but in all seriousness having owned a Columbia 27 they were built by International Marine as strong as tanks and would imo be worthwhile sprucing up and selling if your no longer into sailing. After 45 years that is the one boat the family had the most fun on and I sometimes wish I still had one for pottering around in . OMG I even used to take the in-laws for sunday cruises and my 99 yo father in law still brags about how he helmed it while I reefed . Ming you he exaggerates a lot .

Id go with a shed too. If you mess up the electrics,heating or cooking fibreglass burns like crazy.
