This is what's on mine. I've only had the boat a few weeks, haven't had it in the water yet. No anode on the shaft but one bolted to the hull. The bolt through my anode is loose. I haven't checked what's going on inside the hull with the bolt yet, it's on a very long "to do" list.
I've just taken the rudder off to check the bearings, grease the shaft, and get better access to replace the cutless bearing. I assume the shaft will come out the back?
I'm doing this while having a break from scraping.
The long rubber gloves fill with sweat after about an hour.
Of course I had to resort to the very latest engineering principles, i.e. dug a hole to drop the rudder down.
