I was thinking to add a bit of chilli powder into the antifouling paint. It shouldn't harm the environment but will it damage the paint quality and abrasive properties? Will it have any impact on barnacles?
Any personal experience? The paint I will be using is called International Extra Micron 2.

Yes because they are toxic. Capsaicin is not toxic and I am wondering if anybody has used this substance and their experience. I will never stop making around experimenting. That is just me. In addition to that I completed my test with two different samples. One sample was just a normal PPG anti graffiti paint and a second sample was the same paint but titanium oxide was added. The result were stunning. Titanium oxide performed extremely well, just a tinny bit of slime! Have a look at this after a full year in the sea water. Amazing!

If I could get the same results with chilli powder extract called capsaicin we are all good.

Maybe just mixing epoxy paint and capsaicin will do the job. I will make a sample and will see how this works. I feel that we can do better than current antifouling paints. 21 century, technology, etc.and we are still using copper oxide. the best antifouling paint is copper coat. Just doesn't make sense to me. We can do better.
