Saw this earlier this morning.
Guess he dragged or lost an engine.
He's waiting for high tide to get off but still might be hard as it's only 1.39m. I assume the CG will help pull him.

I just hope his rudders are ok, it looked like they were dug in pretty deep and with the sea coming in from the side like that.

I saw a cat on a hot tin roof once and it got off pretty quick.

The swell there is pretty high. They are surfing in the middle of the bay at the moment near low tide. The swell has created an unusually high sandbank.

So now it's dark I wonder if they turned on Nav or anchor lights

Yes rudders will be loaded up when she starts to bounce and the sail drives and mini keels.

And yes lucky she a cat, couldnt sit in the cockpit and have a beer if mono

How does this happen? Anchored poorly off a surf beach and went to bed maybe?

Maybe (cats sometimes anchor in the corner behind the west wall) but they would be a 1 minute steam away from being safe inside. The river is in front of the medium rise buildings in the last pic.

The boat is still listed on Boatsonline but as "sold" so it was probably purchased fairly recently.

Perhaps the owners were inexperienced sailors or at least not experienced with this particular boat.

A cat would have to lose both motors to be blown or washed up on there so yes perhaps badly anchored in an unfamiliar vessel and asleep with no anchor alarm.

Quite similar to a nice Grainger 1250 that I was on last Sunday.

Not sure of the accuracy but my wife was told the engines failed then the anchor, although that could mean holding in waves.
Hope they got off ok, nice Grainger.
