Hi all my Maxie stove has a corroded/burned burner that I would like to replace or fix.
At this point the second burner is old but works fine so:
1st choice find and replace the burner with the hole. or get advice on how to solder, redrill burner holes. ie fix the burner.
2nd choice find a replacement Maxie stove with 1 good burner and cannibalise it for that part.
3rd choice replace the stove with another Maxie or similar.
I am ok with metho and have no intention going with gas. Also at this point I do not wish to go to a Dorrigo stove, Maxie is my choice.

Thank you all in advance.

Hi Lazz & Cisco, thank you for the effort to help.
I have tried extensive searches before posting. Need to be lucky for Maxie or Maxie parts to come up on any of the on line sale sites.
Also Maxco seems to be a trading address only that has no real presence and calls are not answered.

My hope was that some one had replaced their Maxie at some time and still had the old unit somewhere in their garage.

I will wait and continue to search but I am coming to the conclusion that I will need to replace the whole unit with something more up to date.

Thank you all for considering my request.

Hi, the last known phone number that I have for them is 02 96207055. If you have used that one to no avail then good luck.

Uncle Bob, tried that number which also rings but no pick up.

Hi Graeme, tried T W Sands, they no longer are in the city, but have left a message at their new location but no call back yet.

All on line info re Maxie/Maxco is no longer up to date or supported from what I have been able to find.

Thanks again.

Try primus or Coleman for something similar, I used to have a Coleman unleaded petrol fueled stove with the same type of burners

They used to have them but seems they no longer stock them. Google search comes up with WW link to them but error 404 (page cannot be found.

Definitely a market out there for them.

What's the best alternative product if can't replace burners?

You may be able to convert it to a kero stove. I say "may" because there is a bit skill involved but if the body of the stove is good it is a possibility.

I believe a kero stove is the best alternative to gas. Apparently kero burned hot enough to melt the steel girders in WTC 1 and 2.

There are all sorts of interesting kero stoves on Alibaba that could be re purposed for yacht use. This is just one example.

The bloke that does Maxie stoves does it all on his lonesome and apparently is so snowed under he doesn't answer his phone. This is why most places no longer stock parts. I was told this by WW

"New burner", thanks to Rhys. Buy, swap, sell with forum members is the most effective for older items.
Cheers to all.
