Digital books are ok, you don't need a reading light, they don't weigh much, and if you go to places like Gutenberg project you can get all the old books that are out of print for free ( ie moby dick, William Dampiers journals, good Ol Joshua slocum, and all of RL Stephenson works etc, ) but there's some books that just don't work unless they're on paper, you know the ones that you keep flipping through, back some pages then forward a chapter, phil bolgers folding schooners comes straight to mind, brion toss riggers apprentice, the gaff rigg hand book, oops I'm starting to fill the boat up
My problem is they where on my last yacht all the way to Cairns plus more. To get them back to my new yacht in South oz the transport cost is worth more than the cost of the books. I'm going to see if the local library might take them. zooming in to the group shows a lot along the lines of building boats which is past my past time!
