If this drive system in the Dehler30od is not the bees knees I'll eat a carrot.

The boat itself imho is a bit fugly..........can understand reverse sheer in a Tasman22 but not in a 30footer.

Realise the present racing yacht design is aka Ran7 as below but for a racer-cruiser would have toned down the forward topside chines a tad....would have got rid of that upper full length chine altogether and just used the stern chines..........and made the stem less blunt......and shaped the cabin top a lot better it is too wedge shaped.......but good to see Dehler back as a brand of Hanse - the 34 3/4 tonner then racer cruiser is a classic with ~1200 built.

Yes well put. Many yachts in the 28-32 foot range have got trapped in the "over sizing" bubble........creating an ugly high sided and too beamy piece of.............see here the Elan 320 including twin wheels...........gimme a break.........it is 31.33ft!

Always thought the Pacesetter 9 was a neat boat - shame more were not built.

PS, I' m pretty sure "The Cone Of Silence" had that prop system 15 years ago, and probably wasn't the first... and yes, I agree that the Elan looks bloated and should have (the optional) tillers, but it's a cruiser 'racer'.
