I currently have a 1980 Endeavour 26.
Good-Fair condition. Nothing inside except for some bench seats and a lot of sails. No engine.
Full set of excellent sails and 3 spinnakers and brand new snuffer. Worth 3 x as much as the boat!
If I cannot sell it for next to nothing. What is the next step in disposing of it?

Put it on ebay, $1 start.
Buyer must collect.

Follow the suggestions and if that doesn't work, part it out, cut it up with a chainsaw and into a dumpster. you should recover the costs from the sale of the salvaged bits.

If it comes to that, I think I'll be using a wet demo saw.
The sails alone are worth more than the boat!

Must be a great sheading process to turn fibreglass into "twisted metal" even more so after removing motors etc.

Best way to dispose of old boat?

Gas bomb!! But make sure you are well clear yourself and from other boats. It would require some sort of remote detonation device.

Any suggestions on what could do that job??

If the boat is insured to the hilt it could be a bonus.

A bloke did it many years ago on Auckland Harbour. He did it when there plenty of boats on the harbour to see it and by the way rescue him.

He sat on the transom with his back to the cabin and his fingers in his ears and I think he tossed a sparkler over his shoulder into the cabin when he could smell the gas from his position.

I would just try Gumtree and eBay first. Or sell off the good stuff and sell just the basic boat with the minimum sails on eBay. Priced right it will sell, there has been quite some movement in small yacht sales lately.
Something I would not recommend but seems to be happening in NSW is abandoning the boat. The MSB has a fund to cover the costs of destroying these boats after a waiting period. Of course it's taxpayers money really. They try to find the owner. Then after 3 months sell the boat by tender or auction. If all that fails they hire a contractor to cut it up. The contractor makes a bit on the side flogging off the good bits!
There are buyers out there looking for cheap boats.

Unfortunately you will be competing against boats like the Tasman 26 on eBay at the moment!

There are many ways. Some involve luck, others involve daring. The best ones require both.

But the easiest way is to take her out on my catamaran and she will love it so much she can't argue any more.
