I'm back on the hunt for a boat after the last sale fell through.

I've noticed this crowther cat online. Looks nice, however very little info and the owner is not willing to elaborate on the boats info or spec sheet. He basically said, come and see it and make your own spec sheet! Bit hard when I am in a different state....

Owner tells me it may have once been at Crowther 'Harriet'. Obviously stretched and modified a bit. I cant find any info online about crowther harriet.

Bit out of my price range, so I am not going to jump on a plane just yet, however interesting none the less.

It is in Noosa

I thought crowther cats all favoured dagger boards and good bridgedeck clearance?

If that is a Harrier (not Harriet) it is well removed from the original design. Might be allright but Lock would not be saying "Yep that is one of mine".

Harriers were 30ft racing cats - Felix was a prime example. Two hulls connected by alloy beams. Vertical transoms and big daggerboards - no bridgdeck. It might have started with someone rolling out something from the Harrier moulds and starting from there. Probably a little light in the volume department for a cruising cat as they were designed for racing.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. Strange and alluring boat.

Jedibrad - nice crowther however I want standing head room. Good luck with the sale.

I've raced and sailed on jedibrads cat. Very solid and pretty quick. Comfy too.
He's a fussy bastard. Whoever buys it will be happy.

Just putting it out there - If you are looking for a 'learning boat' for the family for the next couple of years, I am looking for 2 other parties to share my little Crowther - Felix

Already moored in Clareville/Avalon. No capital input required. Just a share of running costs while you save up for something bigger.

New rig should be going up end of April. PM me if youre interested.

My boss is looking at taking a spot once the rig is done.
