The other day on TV I saw a clear spray there using on the inside of paint drums . What it did was no paint was left inside the drum it was like the tin the paint came in was never used clean as .
I wonder if that could be used every thing slips off it .
At the moment its used in commercial drums probably 60 lite . I just caught a glimpses of it on sunrise T.V. or some thing.
Looked like interesting stuff
I used to run a factory that made paint tins and drums up to 200L There are lots of coatings for the insides, the one I think you may have seen is a hydrophobic coating...so it repels water based paints.
The downside of most of these coatings is they need curing, generally temps of 180+C or more for, 8 plus minutes, through big gas fired ovens. There are some very complex microwaves ovens that do it quicker.
I could see a Production boat factory using a coating initially...but all coatings leach out the actives over time..so back to normal anti foul.
