Is the extra cost worth worrying about? I have No5+ and have been impressed. I checked it out yesterday and noticed a couple of bits of shell on the rudder skeg and the bottom edge of the keel. Nearly 2 years and still looks pretty good.

Yes. I have been told 5+ is same as Carboline 3000 which is cheaper at some places.

It's over $200 more where I have pulled out , don't mind paying if it's value for money , it's nearly $1000 for 10lt

That's a bit cheaper than the Altex 5 Plus & I could pick it up!!

Yes as per this post below (and above) mate down the bay used it at same time I used Altex 5 - mid March this year. He hasn't done enough sailing or motoring since to give it a reasonable trial under normal conditions but said it seems promising and he has heard other people speak positively about it. He seems to have a lot less slime than I do now. Suggest you call Altex Sydney rep and ask him - when I asked him he said No5+and Carboline 3000 were the same products and better than No5. But 5+ and C3000 have differences in their technical data sheets so it's a bit confusing. I will be using C3000 next slipping. The west Sydney Harbour might have different fouling conditions to where you are.

You've convinced me, I'm going to give it a go.

I've been using Altex5 the past 10 years or so.

I'm in Lake Macquarie.

Good one. $543 for C3000 10l compared to $320 for No5 4l - makes you wonder why No5 is still sold but shouldn't be negative..............please let us know how you went during the application and how it lasts.............I was told that C3000 is very "fumy".

I recall you saying in another post how effective Altex 5 has been. You've sold me but gonna cost a lot for a 45'
