Both are 50 years old so depends on the condition of the mast frame. (And keel bolts)
One in a Currawong is far easier to get out.

Have you been for a look at them both? What did you like about them?

I have sailed on both the yachts for a few seasons and they both are good boats I would favour the Adams is faster.
I am biased as I own a Adams 35

The Adams and the Cole 31 do have keel bolts.

If the Adams 31 was built by Seahorse Yachts in Seven Hills, give it a wide berth. They were the quintessential Dodgy Brothers

Not sure whether they were the only builders.

The Adams 31 was never as successful as the East Coast 31 when both were new and Half Tonners were one of the hottest classes of the day. The 31 did OK, but the East Coasts won national titles, scored placings etc which the A31s never did.

Adams' 30ft Plum Crazy was, if anything, the fastest of the era in Australia but she was significantly different to the A31. Plum had significantly less depth ahead of the mast, making her significantly lighter.

The early ones were made by a little company set up for the purpose, I believe. I can't recall the name. They built them until possibly about 1977 when Seahorse took over.
