Hi all

One the way home today I noticed that Lucy was on a mooring a bit further up river instead of in her marina berth so I thought i would take a couple of photo's of her from a distance

Regards Don

Hi HG

She is a looker

The only thing i can see might be a issue is that the helming position is a bit exposed to the elements with no dodger

I love Lucy but I would not put her on a mooring and I would replace the wooden boom with more modern materials!

Southace even though you wouldn't won't to own a wooden boom you have to admit it looks pretty special

I. Kinda feel a seldom with all the reefing within a new green sail bag with lazy jacks would make her look hot! Maybe it's just me I tend to look at the bottom half!

Slowly walk down the little ladder into the dark wooden interior. Reach up to the teak glass rack and grab a nice heavy cut crystal tumbler. A handful of ice then tinkles it's way to the bottom of the glass. Jack Daniels splashes it's way around each melting icy cube. After twelve of these you finally forget how many hours and how much it cost to keep this baby looking this way. :-)

Lucy is a Luscious Lady who would surely only have Mount Gay Genuine Eclipse Barbados Rum in her Lika Loka.

Dodger would be an eyesore! Good Fleming on the stern and a balanced rig, most of your time would be spent sitting at the chart table or at the hatchway looking over the cabin top.

Hi Ramona

I agree it would spoil her lines but it is nice to hide behind when the weather is nasty and you need to steer by hand

Did old boats ever have anything resembling a dodger or were the old blokes just tougher than me

Regards Don

I am a big fan of The Cat Empire.

In their classic song "The Chariot" which is a peace song, the chorus line starts:-

"Our weapons were our instruments, Made from the timber and Steel,
We never yielded to conformity but stood like Kings in a Chariot that's riding on a record wheel."

I think there is an ethic or few in that which apply to us seafaring types.

Enjoy the vid.
