The rods running to front are tensioned to prevent main upper tubes bending under "two wheel" loads!
It also looks like the boom can be offset at the mast

Hydraulic adjustment to the front via the pump handle on the floor of the seat?
It looks as though there may be a mast canting mechanism as well?
Beautiful engineering by some one who has access to some great facilities

the designers house backed onto a aeronautical scrap yard in bristol.John Glens designs focused on maintaining wheel alignment over all sorts of crap european beach terrain. His Glen5 yachts and variants did really well until JP krischers T framed seagulls, french plumes, and then Mike Hamptons OTT,s evolved.these yachts allow the wheels to flow, twist and bend over the terrain whilst the chassis can load up energy power the yacht, and are much simpler and practical to build.
But yes i do love the bling

predecesor to rowlock free booms. when sail shapes evolved to allow sheeting further back on the boom and better sail shape control, bling like this became unnecessary. if you can do everything that a radial rowlock and outhaul does just by holding the boom with your hand, then it has to go
