My question is after talking to Jon at Kitepower last Friday about the upgrade of the trim strap for the Access 1, and he suggested I ask you about whether you thought it was worth getting or not, so???.... your thought's if you've had enough time to play or thought's from other's by all means



@Steve, you've got a good bloke there in Jon, thanks him for all his help & advice, and especially for talking me out from been a "Hero" and flying the 6mtr last Friday the 4 was quite adequate to start with and get used to de-power and a bar.

Thats a cool looking fleet. I have an 8m Access that would round that off to a set of four, perfectly.... Youd then have a matching set of access's... 4, 6, 8 and 10. I hate the word quiver, it sounds gay. I call my bag of kites a fleet. Arrows come in a quiver, and nervous people quiver. So do chihuahuas. Excited women quiver too, but its still a gay word.

I havent bothered to put the upgrade kit on yet its still in its plastic bag.

Make me an offer for the 8m if you wish. Its not for sale but if you want it bad enough I might be swayed to part with it for the right price. I will chuck in the upgrade kit also. Its still crispy and like new even though Iv had it out about 8 times and Iv never crashed it.

Im preferring fixed bridles over depowers I believe. Depowers are overrated in my opinion. The only benefit I can see is it allows you to have a smaller fleet by each kite covering a wider wind range. I like large fleets anyhow.

............ nothing overrated about my flysufer S2 I can assure you, no fixed bridal gets anywhere near that thing.

You will certainly find a whole new level of confidence in higher winds JD. I know my Access's have given me my confidence back after my high wind spanking.

And they are super sweet for cruising.

Thanks for your comments, decided to order (1) Access Trim upgrade with cleat, to see what if any advantage and if so I'll let you all know, if no huge advantage nothing lost.

So far only been able to get time in strong winds and only tried the 4mtr. Did take a little bit of getting used to flying off a bar. Have to agree with Nas, for pure fly ability and responsiveness a fixed bridle is the way to go, BUT at the moment with the gusty conditions that I've been flying in, the de-power has been nice to have.

Nas, though I'm tempted and generally can't refuse a bargain I think I'm full of Access kites, if you'd like to let me know a price, if your still interested in separating with your Access I will run it past my mate Andrew that maybe interested.

Luke, one day I plan to buy a Flysurfer, that's an amazing looking kite of yours in flight, but I think I need another few years practice yet, unless I come across a bargain, can't refuse a bargain.

And Goz, I know you have one of the larger Access 8 or 10mtr's and I hope that this Wednesday/Thursday predicted winds will be right for a bash at our local Riverwood spot to try both my 6 and 10mtr out and CRUISE in the buggy.

Yes the winds have been crap lately I've had one fly since mayday its crazy. In regards to your trim and cleat up grade, upgrades can only be good, I am ordering a new FS bar and chicken loop for my current S2 as it never hurts.

As soon as the tides are right and wind, I'll be heading back up to stockton again and sure to let you know if I am going. For a comparison, take my 8 meter manta for a run, compared to the access it behaves more like a fixed bridal in speed, power and turning ability.
