holly crap. i was thinking buggying would be kind of lame.. that looks way to scary for me. How much does that buggy weigh? do you get pulled out when you land sideways?
Also.. I imagine you gotta land pretty perfect on the atb to not crash. looks like atb would be a bit easier on sand if you had the room as you might be able to slide the board around a bit easier than on grass??? Is that the case?

A: Nothing lame about buggying amigo, in fact it is much more hardcore than ATB when it comes to the personal injury element.

Q:How much does that buggy weigh?

A: I think they are about 12kg although you don't really feel the weight of it when you are in the air.

Q: do you get pulled out when you land sideways?

A: we wear lapbelts with quick release set ups, I use a modified version as I think Quick release is useless in a buggy for eg, when you are getting dragged upside down, I would like to see anybody avert their eyes from the horizon and try and pull a quick release lapbelt before your neck breaks. I use plastic buckle clips, that let me jump as you see in the video, yet if I have a hard landing or end up upside down they snap before I am anywhere near hurting myself.

A: Yes that aspect of ATB is a bit more difficult than in a buggy, yet it is much easier to jump on a landboard than it is in a buggy, also setting up the ATB board for landing is much easier as you can swing your legs to place the ATB where you want to land.

A: Not really, the ATB's slide very well on short grass, most of the time even on sand the narrow wheels of the ATB can dig in and give you a new hurdle to overcome.

thanks for the informative answers man. much appreciated. i got a dirt surfer last week and gave it a run on some hills today (kiteless). man its pretty fun. no where near being able to carve or jump yet. just having fun staying on and making the turns. its very easy to get going really fast on these things. Ive actually only had a few goes strapped in so i guess that makes me at the very beggining stages. can't imagine ever being able to turn the thing very sharp but man is it fun and fast.... still a bit scared to try with my kite at this stage. the brake on the thing works way better than i expected too which is handy when not using a kite.

What sort of kite are you using, whatever it is just use it in light winds 8-12 knots you have to bite the bullet sometime, you don't know what your missing..... why walk back up a hill when you can kite up!
