brand new to the area in the past couple of weeks. All my gear is in bag's soon to be on it's way from Hawaii (as soon as I can figure out air cargo anyway). Any suggestions for a way to get on the water in the near term until it arrives? Any of the shop's to demo gear?

Just on a quick google search looks like Elemental do kitesurf hire, might be worth checking that out. Sure there must be others too.

you mean any of the shop who want to loan out gear they have paid for , for you to use with absolutely no intention of purchasing ?

I've got a pair of 2009 Slingshot Rev's (9m & 12m) with a bar, a similar era Best Kahoona 7m with bar, a spare pump and a Flying Objects harness - you can have the lot for $500.

All you need is to find a board and you're sweet.
