Can somebody recommend a shallow flat water spots (ocean, not river) near Perth, maybe 100km south/north max from CBD?
I'm looking for a place to practice my board skills, going up wind, etc.

River or bad luck. Flat water spots with good wind are a privelage that should be earned through doing your time at sh!t spots.

Mandurah estuary at wannanup foreshore.just a 100 or so metres North of the dawesville cut.

Ocean flat water at Avalon beach.

Just be ware of the trick rotation 'Channel'. Wanna practise going upwind fine,but I wouldn't advise it in the channel the more experience guys are using or you may have someone land on your head or kite ...
