kiting rottnest.

anybody know if kiting is allowed on rottnest? if so, which areas/beaches are the best/allowed? ill be out there this weekend - need to know whether to bring my gear! Thanks.

You are allowed to Kite on Rottnest, although I'm not sure which beaches work best. Someone else should be able to answer that.

Aviod the bays with lots of boats/moorings.

bickley is very disappointing in SW maybe better in S

its technically illegal but the island security guys told me the beaches they saw people going from. just do it safe and no one will complain... too much

Great to read this... we have a two day company thing on Rotnest the end of March.

I see there are some pretty good waves there and the wind meter reads a few knots more... take the usual wave board and two kites? any reason to take a twin tip?

I Kited there in January and to be honest it was s#$t.....Offshore winds at the point south of the jetty (Can't remember what it was called). Tried Salmon bay....so gusty I just didn't..........If you try just one thing.....BE CAREFUL......

is thomsons bay kiteable, or somthing near there?

Hey,
I checked out Salmon bay, looks ok but there is reef, could be decent in a seabreeze. Ended up kiteing Transits(thomson bay) in a NE, had to leave from natural jetty and work upwind. Would be a fun wave with a bit more wind, just watch out for the ferry and other boats going through the channel,
