I posted in newbie section but only got 1 name recommended for kite lessons. Wondering if anyone else had good experiences with the schools or private certified instructors in perth.

Lessons will be for family, myself 13yr & 17yr plus dad at 70yrs. Need fun positive instructors who will drill the safety and basics into us. All coming from surfing, windsurfing, skate background. Will also need to have the equipment & number of required instructors for 4 of varying sizes.

I contacted a few schools couple of years back but was put off by the straight point of selling gear to us rather than selling lessons which is what i'm buying, gear will come later.

Any recommendation or places to avoid please let me know.

West Oz Boardsports in Shoalwater. They have a track record of working with kids and a better beginner location than Pinaroo IMO. That being said the advice that you received from and about Christian at Pinaroo was pretty good.

^ what he said. They teach in my opinion the best beginner location in Perth. They taught my mrs and if they can get riding they can teach anyone :-) i learnt at the biggest kite school in Perth several years ago now granted, but i had an average experience and would go westoz as a preference. Add to that they are a family operation that just plain nice people to deal with, know what customer service is and no pushy salesman style stuff at all.

Good luck, book soon while there's plenty of seabreezes left!

Hello,

I would agree with a previous post. West oz at shoal water are very good. I've had lessons and would highly recommend them. Soul kite at Melville are also a good bunch.

Enjoy

bunch of idiots that's what they are!!

When I used to kite Point Walter I would see their students struggling in <10 knots. Yeah value for money right there for noobs.
Go with West Oz or Action Sports WA.. Forget any others.
