Watch/ google the flick "The Filthy West" the spot is in there, pretty early, at the end of the session in the movie they talk to an local wearing an Acubra.

Ive never kitred there but have surfed it a fair bit, normally just north on the shorey when the crowd gets too much at the spot. Be warned though I snapped my board last time, tipical shorey. But it does have a nice bank sometimes.

The water isn't flat when the wind is in, just like any beach open to the wind and waves.

Best to keep clear of the surf break if there are surfers at the spot unless you know exactly what you're doing and the crowd is very thin. This is usually only when it is very windy or in Winter (or when there is zero swell).

The bay is not aligned the same way as Perth metro beaches. A SW wind is nearly directly onshore, more so up the bay toward the Marina. This can make catching waves a bit harder. We head up there when the wind is west to NW. Do a downwinda from the Marina.

Terrible spot, you will loose your fins, terrible direction for the wind on a standard s/sw. There is a seal that jumps out at you. I have seen two great whites in this very location. People always break into your car there.

The ablution block (toilet) is never stocked with toilet paper. And there are no bins in the vicinity for rubbish.

had a couple decent sessions there.

on a real windy day there aren't a lot of blokes surfing. Just do the courtesy of letting them catch there awaited waves but there are plenty to go around. great left-hander, some nice long rides

the bay is not one to boast about. more a shore break than anything else. you can practice your free-style if you want. further North you come to wrecker's beach i think - beautiful spot!! even further north is durrs. was out there monday, had the place to myself. one of the better waves in perth i reckon. but you will need a 4X4.

else just take underoath's advice and give the place an entire skip ha!
