Yesterday I was kiting at Pinaroo (at about 4:20) and my kite landed near one of the yellow shipping markers, in such a way that the marker was between the left power line and left steering line. The kite was pulling me towards the marker so I released the chicken loop and the bar went up the marker and pulled off the top, untangling me from the marker!
I then performed a self rescue as I was being dragged out to sea, losing my board in the process.
I just want to say: Thankyou so much to the guy with the blue kite who kited over to me to see if I had my board, and thankyou so much to the guy who brought my board in!!! I didn't get to see who you were, and I couldn't stick around to ask around about it, but I am extremely grateful for the help that I received!
