I'm pretty new to kiting, but I'm in it mainly to surf. Had a struggle today staying upwind on the surfboard. Especially toeside. I have never, even at the very beginning, had trouble keeping upwind on the twin tip. What's the trick? Is it rail? Fins? Different board? Foot position? I have straps on at the moment, but have gone strapless too.
I struggle with this as well, im sure its foot posistion on board. I recall reading about it think you go more middle of the board?? Also it helps with a dynobar. Sometimes it works sometimes not following with interest.
Gybe and come in switch (or head out on long tack switch if you're a goofy) You get a bit more efficiency riding heel side than toe side in most situations. I'm assuming you rode both switch and normal on the twinny, so that may be why you are losing that ability to stay upwind now.
