Hello WA people

I am coming over for a couple of days work next week and thought I may sneak in a kite around Perth on Wed or Thursday.

How is the wind in the winter and which beach would you recommend?

Thanks and regards for any advice.

It's been a poor winter. Last year there were big fronts to 45 kts every two weeks for a while and was probably kiting about three times per week. This year have kited less than once per week. If your only over for a couple days i would really keep an eye on the graphs and only trust them a day in advance and if it's forecast to be howling. i have seen days that have been forecast for 25 kts cross/ on hit 20 then turn offshore and go to 5kts. Fingers crossed though.

yeah, gotta agree with Nick.
3 x a week last year, 3 x a month this year if we've been really lucky, getting sick of going home with wet sandy gear

Yep, so hit and miss this time of year, even in a good year.

This winter has been dominated by strong high pressure systems in the bight, strong enough to push the fronts away to the south. I think we've had only one or two decent ones and since they were a strong set of fronts were strong enough to push through the high.

This pattern is all time for far north qld.

Sadly for WA winter, could be a sign of the times unfortunately, not unfortunate for FNQ.
