Anyone know why it seems we are getting a decline in windy days in Perth, I remember this time of your used to be pumping by now!

I don't believe there is any evidence to suggest Perth is declining in windy days.

If you really want to know how it works, here is some reading:

www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso/history/ln-2010-12/IOD-what.shtml (refer to various topics on ENSO etc on the right of the page)

There was a good doco on SBS or ABC about the atmospheric jet streams and affect on climate patterns. I can't find it - may have been on Catalyst?

Summary here:

We had about 29 days of 15 or more knots sea breeze days so far this season, not too bad IMO.

Last year (2013) was worse with only 23 days of 15+ knots in Oct+Nov combined.

The year before that (2012) was a great start with 38 days of wind in Oct+Nov.

2011 was 33 days.

So yeah on average 1 out of 2 days of wind In October and November without much change over 4-5 years. Those months can always be less reliable with wind.

December onwards should be on average 3 out of 4 days of wind.

I've done my AC joint, the winds not allowed to blow until I'm back!
