Great session today. Heaps of wind and swell. Frothing.

Disappointed to see the number of lazy people at trigg that are incapable of using the path provided and feel the need to walk over the sand dunes. There is no legitimate reason to do this.

A lot of effort is put in to rehabilitate these dunes and they certainly don't need to be trampled. The path is approx another 20 m walk.

The council will not be impressed when they see this happening. The fences are there for a reason and there are more than enough access points.

fair call.
which part of trigg you talking?
You know technically not supposed to kite at trigg at all. well from 3rd carpark to trigg point.
One of the beach inspectors is out to get at the moment. watch out for that as well.
he came belting along the sand in his car to tell me recently, plus i have seen him do to others. even late when no swimmers about.
anyhow, with the increased number of kiters along coast (mental numbers yesterday) we need to obey by some rules and watch out for each other or it will get shut down.

I'm talking the third car park. Where the downwinders finish.

Was unaware about not being able to kite there (edit: between thirds and point)? What's the reason for no kiting? I would have thought as long as we aren't in the flags, it would be allowed.
Tried a quick google but couldn't find any more info.

cant find it off hand but pretty sure WAKSA posted it somewhere.
Perhaps WAKSA can assist me here and maybe give us an update?
The beach inspector said to me its a swim and surf zone, no kites or windsurfers. too dangerous after one guy crashed into a swimmer and cut them, then they sued the council or something or other.
anyhow, ive kited down near surf club for years, never between flags as generally i go out there after the clubbies pack up. never had an issue until recently.
Have stopped kiting there as i dont want to get the community into more strife but yeh some more advice on areas/zones be nice.

After doing a downwinder yesterday with the amount of kites there was i was so suprised there were no incidents with kites tangling etc, so many people snaking and not watching out for others just turning and owning. be a shame to lose the coast because of ignorant behavior.

.... can anyone tell me where the sign is down there that says between the point and 3rd carpark is a no windsurf/kite zone?
Obviously they stick signs in the sand about swimming and surf zones, but where is the sign about windsurf/kite zone if it's a no go between point and 3rd CP??

cheers

I think if WAKSA read this it would be beneficial for them to comment.

I have never heard of the restriction, but if it is in place it should probably be made aware of.
