hi Toesidet

dont expect much between now and Oct.. If your lucky you may get something in Sep but I would head up north to Exmouth as they get the winds before Perth does.

You will get the winter storms coming through and the winds are generally from the NW but take care as they are quite gusty. Check the Waksa location guide

Take care on the winter storms - we had a guy killed last winter.
Leighton is a usual spot to kite the westerly winter winds, if you're super desperate.
Kite the winds after the storm fronts have passed and the clouds clear off. Don't go out during the gusty rainy storms themselves.

The death i'm think of was the one at South Cott - last winter or winter before . . . apologies if I got the year confused.
None the less, was a massive shell-shock through all of the winter kiting crew, big reminder to respect the gusty cold-fronts.
People had been pushing it, and finally unfortunately, something tragic occurred.
