We'll be coming to Lancelin for two weeks in January. I'm looking for a school/instructor to do a basic course with my daughter, 13 y.o.

Could you recommend someone, please?

I don't think there are currently any kitesurfing schools based in Lancelin. These guys were there for a while but I think they have gone:

I have on rare occasions seen another school give lessons there but I don't know who they were.

Lancelin is a small place. It would be pretty hard for anyone to make a living teaching kitesurfing there. You might have to take lessons in Perth or pay someone from Perth enough to come up to Lancelin. Sorry to have to disappoint you. I hope you find someone.

Or the two of you could try surfing or windsurfing. Werner has scaled back his windsurfing business. He no longer rents gear directly from the beach but from his house. You could ask if he still gives windsurfing lessons.

Is Werner still a threat? I read stories from 10 years ago. Now thinking about changing my Airbnb reservation to another town.

Na it's all good there no threat at all. Very busy though this time of year and heaps of perth crew. Keep driving head north to dongara . Better wind , beaches and friendlier crew

Just came back from our holiday in WA and wanted to say I was so impressed! Wind all the time, big empty beaches and most importantly, super friendly people. I'm a beginner and appreciated very much when fishermen brought my kite and board back after I detached and swam to shore in a panic near Wedge Island. Also, thanks to Brad at Dongara who spontaneously offered me a drive, so that I can do a downwinder. Great stuff and I hope to come back one day if you don't mind one more "Euro" for a few days :-)
