Hi Downwinders,

We are couple of people planning kite to Rottnest Island from Safety Bay this Sunday! Dont really need to worry about transport bcuz I have 2 available spot in my car. If you would like to joing us this Sunday AfterNooN give us call 0478820480.
If you worry about coming up wind we may change the back route to Cottesloe. That would be so much fun.

Erol,
i think a spot in your CAR would be well down on the list of concerns for your trip...............

We have a racing event at Coogee, you'll be in for a fair bit of traffic if you trying to land there.
The wind, swell and chop unless you on a formula board or foil its unlikely you'll track that far back upwind, better best aim for leightons north of the harbour.
Also water police will be out in force in the area, (kites offshore get there attention real quick so they'll certainly come check in) so make sure you have all your DOT required Kit for that distance offshore. PLB, Flares and PFDs.

Good safety info PKR but i doubt Erol get's too far from the keyboard trolling

Probably wishes they could kite that distance but sadly falls well short of what it takes

Dear Erol

as an out of town kiter, you may not be aware that kiters are requested NOT to kite in/near/at Cottesloe - by which I mean the beach in the immediate vicinity of the Cottesloe Groyne and up to the North Cottesloe SLSC.

If you change your final destination, Leighton, Dutch Inn or Swanbourne would be better landing spots.

It would be greatly appreciated by those of us who live/kite here if you would please respect the long standing no go area @ Cottesloe (main beach).

regards,

Juddy

Thx guys all!

I appreciate for sharing all those valuable information with me. I`ll take notice all of that. Juddy You right Swanbourne sounds pretty good. Plus Wind looks bit crappy for this sundy but it might change again.
