Killer sand dune up the river, killer speed then skim across the river. Don't hit a speed boat.

Nah nothing I'm aware of, I used to pop in there almost daily for work, rain hail or shine and I've never seen anyone kite there. Though I never looked at it and thought it would be any good anyway (unless you got inside the river mouth on a westerly).

Surely someone has thrown a kite up?

Works on wsw in the river (winter) In years gone by the river has opened and closed 50 odd meteres south of the southern dunes which enabled a run of about 100m of nice flat water .

Very dependent on the length of the run to make it worth while.

Can also get a little play up on the north-side of the now dilapidated groin.

I go there a bit with the family. If it's windy and want to kite I go somewhere else. I normally just focus on family and try to forget Kiting for a couple of days and catch a heap of little bream with the kids!! Great place.

For Kiting, I'd say in the river is a no go as it's sheltered, it's quite small area of water and a million kids and family's.

In the ocean looks ok. My brother has windsurfed there in the ocean. No wave riding, just some bumpy ocean lawn mowing. A bit south looks like there might be some waves on the reef.

Easy to find a spot with no people on the ocean beach so can't see an issue. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

I kited there once - just inside the sandbar that blocks the river mouth. It was a fun little session with glass flat water - but a very short run. Certainly worth pumping the kite up for a novel experience. Obviously if there's lots of people around fishing or boating don't do it.
