Hello all, in your experience, what's the wind like in and around Exmouth in November. The BOM averages suggest it is around 16-17 knots when the seabreeze kicks in. If this is about right, what kite sizes do you ride on up there with a twinny? Zephyr 17m?

A bit late in the season for Exmouth. Gero is far more reliable for wind.
Not saying you won't get a breeze, but September/October is usually better.

Whaaaaaaaat, have you ever been here in November it blows its ring off all day, Probably our windiest month. You definitely won't get much use out the Zephyr, bring small kites and be prepared for strong winds.

Salty the whole WA coast is windy in November and as a rule of thumb the further north you go the windier it gets. At least up to Exmouth anyway.

Spent a couple of weeks in exmouth in November on a few occasions, blowvember we called it, kited over wilderness island in the gulf, possibly the strongest seabreeze a I've kited in,Jim the owner said it got to 42knts , I had birds sheltering behind my centre console of my boat trying to get out of the wind,I'd put money on it being as strong as the Midwest / Dongara geraldton but with better water conditions

This. I think i kited every day when i was there in November last year, 9m with the occasional 11m day (many days i probably should have been on a 7). If i did have a day off it would have been because i was blown off the water. Great time of the year to be up there. You'll probably be hanging for a day off.

Thinking of heading up there in November, where are the best areas to stay, in Exmouth or over at Yardie creek? Not been that far north before so any advice would be appreciated.

I recommend the Lighthouse Caravan Park for its location between the National park and Town, Plus you can hear the waves from your Tent/accomodation...

if your on a twin tip I would try and get organised to camp down in the national park near sandy bay (osprey bay campground is right next to it)as thats our best flatwater spot. There are also a couple of smaller spots in the national park. From the park north (yardy homestead caravan park to lighthouse) is pretty much chop chop in november unless a swell comes up but it's pretty late for decent swells. Also expect to encounter lots of wildlife if you have to drive anywhere after dusk. We counted 30 roos in under 5km the other night near the lighthouse and with all the feed around this year it's only going to get worse.
