After discussing the recent tragedies with a number of people it appears that there are three target groups that are most at risk of having a serious accident:

o Entry level with little or no experience, particularly those not getting professional instruction.

o Those buying 2nd hand gear that may not be in good condition and/or may not be fitted with adequate safety systems. This group often includes entry level that are not getting professional instruction.

o More experienced riders that become complacent and/or are competitive and pushing the limits, especially in terms of wind strengths and safety distances.

Now we’ve identified some risk groups we need to develop some strategies to make a difference. Of course anyone can have an accident but these groups should be our first priority.
