It can be, but not very predictable.
Cross on waves, light sea breezes, or frontal westerlies and northerkies are also an option.
The sydney to hobart yatch race regulalry gets dull drums half way through, but also can have 30+ knots for 4 days.

From hobart there are a wide range of beaches availble, including marion near the falls festival

Gday, have had a lesson and bought some gear off Pete around the end of 2017 (i think) and went to cremorne lagoon a couple of times last summer. Pretty time restricted with family etc but would like to join the whatsapp group to either get in the water with people or at least start to match up conditions with spots so I can get more educated! I tried Boltons Beach around NYE and struggled. Live in Kingston and as much as I'd love to use the local beach and BBay I reckon I need a lot more experience in easier spots.

Both. Autumn can be quiet so better if you can move around. There's a lot of variety within 4 hrs drive so ideal for overnight trips.

On a decent SW we'd normally sail park beach, but unfortunately your a week too late
