Seabreeze couldn't get a forecast right in SE Qld if they tried. Absolutely hopeless and by far the least reliable.

Just out of interest when and where did they get it wrong?

It's only a feed from BOM, if BOM is wrong, so is Seabreeze. It's the doldrums, happens May, June and July every year. Then we get the good westerlies, and seabreeze Northerlies start September.

Live feeds are the best to go off. Forecasts are never accurate

The SB app differs to web now.. More localised to phone on app. The European modelling apps are ok.. (PredictWind).
Have added range of weather station s (that I know of) to the SE Qld locations guide.. Might help..

Pretty sure you will find the wind forecast in "Seabreeze" is not from BoM but from the freely available GFS American model (22km resolution). In general though If you want a more accurate spot forecast use "Windy", by default it uses the ECMWF model which is higher resolution and more accurate in Australia than GFS (Also available in Windy). BoM also have their high resolution Access model which performs well but the interface from their website is not as user friendly as it should be.

Seabreeze uses a combination of models, including BoM and GFS.

Forecasts are now accurate to 1.5km, but as with any system, garbage in, garbage out. Weather is complex and forecasts are computed based on very spatial and varied inputs.

Forecasting has improved so much and continues to get better.

Wasn't so long ago that clouds, winds and temperature were the only indicators of approaching weather...

I log my sessions on Strava, 170 sessions this year. That's kiting or winging almost every second day, you just need gear suitable for our conditions.

Whining about the weather is like pissing into the wind (sorry pun intended).

Log your rides/sessions and you'll be surprised how often you go out there. I kite almost once a week if not twice when I can get away from the missus. Just last Sunday, winds predicted to be around 10knots, turned out to be close to 16knots and had the entire Pallarenda Bay to myself. Had a 19m kite of course, so yeah the right equipment for the day is all you need. A quiver is essential.
